In 2006, the EERP-USP established the Bachelor’s Degree Program and the Bachelor’s degree with a Teaching Diploma in Nursing to encourage access to higher education through offering more vacancies in the night and afternoon. The curriculum complies with the Curricular Guidelines for the Education of Nurses and Teachers approved by the Ministry of Education, and the Teacher Training Program, valuing an inter-disciplinary approach and the inclusion of students in the different scenarios of health and education practice from the time of their first semesters.

The Bachelor’s Degree Program and the Teaching Diploma Degree in Nursing aim to graduate generalist nurses, qualified to work in health promotion in primary education and as teachers in vocational programs in nursing (the education of nursing technicians and auxiliaries) as well as in nursing care delivery in the various fields.

Students have the opportunity to learn by working in the education of nurses in the field of integral care, seeking to meet individual and collective needs according to the principles of Primary Health Care (PHC) including the fields of integral care to individual needs in distinct phases of life, integral care to the collective needs and the organization and management of integral care and health services.

The EERP-USP has a privileged infrastructure for teaching, with laboratories to practice nursing and multidisciplinary procedures, telenursing, comfortable classrooms and auditoriums, computer labs, and study room.

For practical activities and supervised training, the EERP-USP maintains partnerships with the Hospital das Clinicas at the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto, Medical School, State Hospital of Ribeirão Preto, Referral Center for Women’s Health in Ribeirão Preto (MATER), Santa Tereza Hospital at Ribeirão Preto, Vicente de Paulo Spiritist Sanitarium and the City Health Network of Ribeirão Preto. In the field of education, the EERP maintains, in addition to the public educational network, partnerships with private and public vocational schools.

The student can use academic and socio-cultural services and spaces on the campus.
